Have you heard of Moo Doe?

The so-called "traditional" martial art taught by Oom Yung Doe to raise money and recruit for their cult.

Some things seem natural, like a glass of grapefruit juice would be a healthy choice for breakfast. But its important to check out the facts before you pick up a glass of pink yummy goodness. You could end up like this guy.

Information is a good thing.
Especially if you're interested in Oom Yung Doe.

One of the phrases parroted most liberally by OYD believers is John C. Kim's unmatched "skill and ability".  This is the same Kim who never demonstrates in the presence of anyone except his closest followers.  All accounts of his miraculous "skill and ability" come in the form of anecdotes, never firsthand except from members of his innermost circle (read: fellow convicts).

Back in the day, there were whispers and murmurs that Kim's "death touch" was what killed Bruce Lee.  Bruce Lee Envy extended in other forms as well - Kim lived in a cave with tigers who brought him food; Kim taught Chuck Norris; in Korea, people would be lining up across blocks to get a chance to be treated by Kim.  Stories so ridiculous that they could never be traced to anyone who would admit to actual knowledge about these events, and rarely admit to propagating them - the implications and rumors simply existed, and they separated the believers from the common folk.

The new age of implications and rumors: anonymous blogs with no supportive evidence!!

Hey, look at me, glass houses, bricks, all that jazz ...  Not so quick.  Take a look at what I mean:

A supposedly independent fan of Oom Yung Doe.

A page devoted entirely to promoting the weeklong, links to "independent" Oom Yung Doe "fan" sites - with the same misinformation that Oom Yung Doe teaches (for a good laugh, check out the Tai Chi page and oh! oh! they teach Karate too!!) - excerpts from student testimonials written for OYD and pictures that belong to OYD central. The same kind of language notorious among OYD higher belts trying to connect to "normal" people.  Keywords thrown in to catch any student who might be trying to research the esoteric terms used in OYD.  Best of all, a cool Kung Fu video - without ANY reference to the fact that the performer has no connection to Oom Yung Doe whatsoever, but is a professional member of the Jackie Chan Stuntman Association.

You can't say that they said the movie was of an Oom Yung Doe member, they just happen not to mention it at all.  You can't say they are the ones misrepresenting martial arts (chop! chop!) this is some student who is enthusiastic about his training, some ignorant student Come in for a free lesson!! You know, this that, what people think can't control ...

Hey, I see lots of skill and ability in this blog: the skill of manipulating search engines by the sacrifice of content to get a better keyword density. And if it's really an independent by a student, I admire his mastery at imitating official OYD style and at not getting slapped down by instructors and getting hold of official photos. I've been asked to stop taking pictures, modify personal web pages, and/or surrender private material (including negatives) of pictures taken in public places (beach in San Diego, tournament in Pittsburgh) -- so I know what I'm talking about.

      Try Googling "Herding the Moo"
It's a former instructor's accounts of cult membership in this group.

Do you remember an instructor John M. Did you write the book or is a collection of people or a ghost writer.
