Have you heard of Moo Doe?

The so-called "traditional" martial art taught by Oom Yung Doe to raise money and recruit for their cult.

Some things seem natural, like a glass of grapefruit juice would be a healthy choice for breakfast. But its important to check out the facts before you pick up a glass of pink yummy goodness. You could end up like this guy.

Information is a good thing.
Especially if you're interested in Oom Yung Doe.

I came across a blogger's account of the day he stepped into his friendly neighborhood Oom Yung Doe school.

I remember the time when we were being trained to be in "Instructor Ben"s shoes.  We learned how to deal with no-minds like this guy, those ones who think they know, but they don't.  The important thing is that you stay in control.  You find out what they are looking for.  There is a reason that they came into the school.  They may not know it, but they are looking for something, and if you don't show them how moo doe can make their life better, you have taken away their opportunity to improve.

'cause moo doe is everything to everyone, its the miracle cure, its the bread and the wine Hare Krishna Hare Rama, so we start chanting.

Okay, we didn't really start chanting.  There was never any chanting in a moo doe school.  But there was much talking.  By higher belts who were "mentally training" lower belts to be better martial artists.  Only, it was rarely about martial arts.  But we were too tired to notice.  We just wanted to get through the lesson today so we could get out of the school in time to catch enough zzz's to stay awake at work tomorrow.  So focus on the lesson: what was that again?  Yeah, how to catch a fly.

You take them into the practice room and make them hold t-position.  Make them hold for a minute.  If they're in good condition, can easily hold for a minute, then make them hold for 5 minutes.  The point is, show them their limits.  They may think they have something, but training can give them more.  This is what you can learn.  Sign up here.  The beginner course is $xxx.xx for 2 months.  After that?  Well, we have a few different options.  You don't need to worry about that now.

See, people place too much by material.  Some people have a lot of financial, they think they would rather pay $20 at a kick and punch tae kwan doe tang soo doe karate school, but how much is your mind and body worth?  Can you put a price on that?  How much is too much to pay for lifelong health and peace of mind?  So first, make them feel.  Once they begin to feel, begin to see, then they can choose how much worth to train.  Training is a gift of life for life.

I went back and read the personal experience again, all 23 pages. I'm still shocked but I feel I need to say something more...Nothing like this ever happened with me, thank God! First I need to say how horrible that she had to go through what she went through. I can't explain Dave's behavior, It sounded like he was ready to break, still very wrong what happened.... I believe because I met Dave outside of Chung Moo Quan (and I myself never got involved in it) thats why our relationship was different. It was far from healthy but it was different than hers certiantly much better. My experiences with Forest, Brenda (his wife) Sue (his live in mistress) and some of the instructors was very strange. I also (like the woman in the article) stayed at a few of the houses with Dave but luckily I never had to sleep on the floor I was able to have slept with Dave upstairs in his room...It was 32 years ago, the memories are vague but those were real weird times I do remember that. I also was young and naive. I remember how hard it was for Dave to get away for the weekends to see his mom much less me, when he did get to see his mom he would pick me up and take me with him. I remember times that his mom would call the school and tell them she wanted to see him....After years and growing up a bit I realized couldn't (and wouldn't) take it anymore, I wanted to settle down and get married but I was tired of Chung Moo Quan BS so I broke up with him in 1980. It wasn't an easy break up, he didn't want it, but I knew it had to be...The last time I saw him was in 1981 he said he was driving by my parents house and spotted me sitting on the front steps so he came over to talk..If I remember correctly he may have left Chung Moo Quan then or was thinking about it... I was dating someone so that was the last time I saw him.....

Letters written by Cathy Furio and Kim Rieser, both of whom have accused John Kim of abuse, are on file in the yahoo discussion group,  along with many other documents on OYD & John Kim.  You will have to sign up for membership to access the group, but it is worthwhile.  The group is at: http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/oomyungdoe_discuss/

I can not get over Kim's story, It Is like a sad movie. What Kim did is up there with the Catholic Priest taking advantage of the children. And as far as David Anderson, I may sound uncaring or callus but I feel he got his just rewards when he contracted HIV. Anyone willing to treat another human being like that deserves to die a miserable death. Why does the government let these schools exist?
